Antimicrobial Resistance Education Alliance (AREA)

What is AREA?
The Antimicrobial Resistance Education Alliance (AREA) seeks to provide education on the appropriate use of antibiotics in inpatient settings to health care providers nationwide.

This website aspires to be the leading resource for health care providers seeking to educate themselves and/or their patients about antimicrobial resistance and appropriate use of antimicrobial agents.

AREA is a collaborative effort between the University of Wisconsin (UW) School of Medicine and Public Health, CME Enterprise, Wisconsin Antibiotic Resistance Network (WARN), and Healthcare Performance Consulting.

See the press release from 8/11/2006.

What is AREAinitiatives.org?
AREAinitiatives.org is a Web portal that:
1. Does not create or disperse original material.
2. Acts as a conduit of knowledge between the intended audience (information seekers) and expert resources (information suppliers).

Although all material linked on AREAinitiatives.org has been reviewed for content validity, it does not necessarily represent all expert viewpoints equally. As the user, you are encouraged to critically evaluate all materials prior to making clinical practice decisions.
