One more child dies after vaccine injection

The Department of Health of the northern province of Hoa Binh has reported that an eight-day-old baby died on June 4 after being injected with a hepatitis B and tuberculosis vaccine.

The baby was born on May 28 at Hoa Binh General Hospital. One week after the birth the baby’s health was very good. In the morning on June 4 the baby was brought to the local health station to be vaccinated against hepatitis B and tuberculosis.

After the injection, the baby slept a great deal. She was tired and ate little. At 2pm on the same day she began getting a temperature, crying and was exhausted. Her face and body went pale.

The family immediately took the child to the hospital but she died.

The local health agency is inspecting the case to find out the reason for the baby’s death.
